I went to Disney a few months back and never posted the pictures. I'm going back February 2015 (i'll be there for a work event and we're going to Disney for a few days after) and my mom has to make the reservations now. So I was looking around the internet to see if there were any more ideas than what we had done this past trip and it is seriosuly lacking in the review department for Vegans! I can barely find any online, and if they are, they are from 2012! We called ahead and had the closest store order in a case of organic bananas a week before so we could be sure they were ripe enough by the time we got there. So we brought a NutriBullet with and made smoothies every morning, and also brought some to the park and got a locker to keep them in. We also brought a lot of fruit and veggies to snack on. Then we would eat dinner out. So here is my review of where we ate this past trip.
BOMA - Easily, my favorite. It is a huge buffet with African food. It is so, so amazing. They walked me through to show me what I could have, and then also took special requests. They offered gluten free crispy crackers to go with the hummus, and a lentil soup. From the buffet I could have another soup, avocado papaya salad, rice, beans, etc. Everything is so unique and flavorful.
'Ohana- was probably my second favorite. They had gluten free bread, a really good vegan salad with tropical dressing, and then the main dish was a big plate of Hawiiaan rice with veggies. It was perfect. My dad got a second serving (he and I follow the same diet). Desert was grilled and fresh fruit!
Restaurant Marrakesh (Moracco in Epcot)- I got saffron rice and veggies, the highlight though, was the bread! They had the most amazing gluten free rolls, I had two!
Brown Derby- The only thing I could have on the menu was a modified Cobb salad and gluten free pasta. That's not to say it wasn't fantastic. It was perfectly seasoned and I am not one to complain about a good salad and pasta.
Flying Fish Cafe- This was very unique and fresh! I got sauteed veggies (a broccoli and asparagus) and fingerling potatoes. I shared an avocado and kale salad with my mom also. It was a good, filling meal.
I really wasn't able to get good pictures due to lighting and the fact that we would be ravenous by the time the food came. During my next trip in a few months I will be sure to grab pics! For now, you can enjoy the ones above, that I did take.
