This past week I was in Austin, TX for an event that Keller Williams puts on called MegaCamp. I was there for four nights and the first two we ate at Fogo de Chao, which being vegan means I get the salad bar only. Their salad bar is crazy good so I always love eating there. The third night we went to Counter Culture, which was outstanding, so we went back for our forth and final night with a nice bottle of organic champagne (who knew?)!

Everything in the restaurant is 100% vegan. Both nights we started with the warm jalapeno artichoke cheeze dip w/ gluten free bread.

The first night I got the chickpea tuna melt on gluten free bread with a side cesar salad. This sparked my intense craving to have this for every meal since then, hence my previous post about making it for all of my lunches this week. My mom got a wild mushroom beet burger with potato salad. I love that each entree comes with 1-2 sides so we got to try that much more of the menu. Everything was perfect and the servers all very nice. We knew we had to come back for our last night. The pictures did not turn out great so only the second night is pictured.

The last night we celebrated with the organic champagne, and started it off with "our usual" dip. We decided to split two entrees- The rueben on GF bread, and the baked mac and cheeze with GF noodles. Our sides were cesar salad (again- so good!!) and pickled veggies. Everything was so, so amazing. The mac and cheese had broccoli and GF bread crumbs baked into it, serious comfort food. The reuben was spot on, and the sides were the perfect touch. We finished it off with mint chocolate chip ice cream!

My mom is not vegan by any means and loved this restaurant. We were both recommending it to everyone! Our only regret- not going back on Saturday morning for the brunch! Gluten free stuffed french toast, anyone? Or would you prefer the banana split oatmeal? Can't wait to go back next year, as this is an annual Keller Williams event! Last year, we frequented Beets Living Foods Cafe, however it was closed this year as the owner is working on a new project. Also can't wait to see what she has in store! 'Till next time, Austin!
